EFP series aquatic pump

UC Series

Engineered for extreme reliability in the most extreme chemical processing applications, Finish Thompson’s ULTRAChem® pumps are magnetically driven, ANSI dimensional pumps. They are constructed from tough ductile iron with ETFE lining for superior corrosion resistance.

Features

  • Sealless design – Powerful neodymium magnets drive the impeller through a carbon-filled ETFE lined barrier for dependable, leak-free operation.
  • Fully supported shaft and self-aligning dual bushings – designed for optimum alignment to prevent premature wear.
  • Complete encapsulation of inner drive magnets in ETFE – for ultimate corrosion protection.

DB Series, SP Series

Magnetically coupled, sealless centrifugal pumps. Finish Thompson DB Series and SP Series pumps are are designed from the ground up to pump corrosive chemicals in electroplating and anodizing facilities.
Features

  • No mechanical seal – Powerful rare earth magnetic drive system eliminates the troublesome mechanical seal.
  • Corrosion resistant – Engineered for the most aggressive liquids, manufactured from polypropylene or PVDF.
  • Run dry ability – Makes them less prone to operator error or system upset.
  • Self-priming optionSP Series pumps can lift fluid from as deep as 25 feet (7.6 meters) below the pump or can pull liquid out of the top of a tank eliminating through-the-sidewall bulkhead fittings.

Sealless Magnetic Drive Pump Improves Productivity for Pulp and Paper Industry

Aggressive chemicals. Precision processes. Regulatory compliance. These are crucial to the pulp and paper industry. The manufacture and conversion of products from writing paper to toilet paper to corrugated board requires durable, reliable, and safe systems. Plant operators are looking to companies who deliver components that can make their operations more efficient and successful—companies like Finish Thompson.

“Pulp and paper mills are using sodium hydroxide, sulfuric acid, and sodium hypochlorite in their various processes,” explains Will Weathers, Finish Thompson Regional Manager. “These heavy-duty chemicals are simply too harsh for many pumps to handle. Our UC Series, DB Series, and SP Series sealless magnetic drive pumps are the ideal solution. Because they lack a mechanical seal that would eventually break down from exposure to these chemicals, our pumps provide a leak-free, rugged solution. Each mag drive pump reduces maintenance and downtime to increase productivity.”

A Mag Drive Pump for Every Process

Finish Thompson offers a full line of pumps to service the diverse operations of pulp and paper facilities. “Our sealless magnetic drive pumps support top and bottom unloading, plus a wide range of pumping volumes and speeds,” notes Weathers. Plant operators look to these pumps to handle heavy-duty chemical applications without leaking, including unloading trucks and rail cars, transfers of chemicals to various storage facilities, and for in-plant processes.

A paper processing plant in the midwestern U.S. chose Finish Thompson centrifugal chemical pumps to handle their caustic and sulfuric acid applications. “Our DB Series pumps are perfect for transferring these harsh chemicals from their raw chemical room to their processing area and for managing the sodium hypochlorite they use to bleach the paper,” notes Joel Klippel, Vice President of U.S. Sales.

Another paper plant, which also uses Finish Thompson pumps for chemical transfer and processing applications, discovered Finish Thompson has the perfect pumps for their dye applications as well. “They use our DB and SP series pumps to transfer colorant to the mixing tanks to create the appropriate volume, consistency and color,” Klippel reports. “These sealless mag drive pump options allow them to safely and efficiently handle the transfer.”

Quick Delivery

“Finish Thompson has a strong network of distributors that keep products in stock to meet our customers’ needs,” notes Weathers. A case in point: One southeastern U.S. paper mill experienced a pump failure with a competitor’s product. When they needed a quick chemical transfer pump replacement, the distributor was able to provide an immediate solution.

Furthermore, “our factory supports the distribution network with expedited shipments. Together, our in-stock pump availability and quick shipping make us a leader in the industry for delivery,” Weathers adds. “It’s happened again and again – customers switch to our pumps because they’re available when they need them, and the pumps get the job done right – so they won’t have to be replaced again in the future.”
