  • Bellows, multispring or double type seals – specify for maximum suction pressure.
  • Accepts standard NEMA or IEC metric motors – to meet application requirements.
  • Close-coupled or pedestal mounted options.
  • Modular design – component interchangeability.

AP Series

Sealed stainless steel centrifugal pumps from Finish Thompson. The rugged, compact AP Series AC horizontal pumps are available with FDA compliant materials and built to withstand the harshest chemical environments.
Features

  • Heavy gage 316 stainless steel construction – Handles higher pipe and hose loads for long, dependable life.
  • Centrifugal design – Provides smooth, pulseless liquid flow.
  • Multiple sizes – A wide variety of suction/discharge sizes and impeller diameters for increased hydraulic coverage.
  • High temperature range – Capable of handling hot liquids (up to 200°F/93°C).

VKC Series

Vertical magnetic drive sealless centrifugal pumps, VKC Series pumps from Finish Thompson offer excellent corrosion resistance and magnetic drive reliability. Multiple impeller diameters and column lengths offer enhanced hydraulic selection and application flexibility.
Features

  • True sealless vertical pump design magnetic drive – eliminates the need for wetted shaft bearings.
  • Sealed airtight column – helps prevent shaft and motor corrosion and reduces environmental emissions.
  • No back impeller – single impeller prevents aeration and eliminates microbubbles in fluid being pumped.
PFS-M3 drum pump

Drum Pumps

Finish Thompson drum pumps are extremely versatile and are not just for use in in drums. A wide range of tube lengths allow them to be used in drums, barrels, totes, IBCs (intermediate bulk containers) and other container sizes.
Features

  • PP, PVDF or 316SS tubes – Select based on your application
  • Built-in hose and cord clips – Selected models
  • Explosion proof/ATEX options — When equipped with the proper motor, can transfer flammable alcohol-based fluids and are suitable for use in hazardous locations

PF Series

  • High performance sealless pump
  • Unique double suction impeller provides high flow rates and high discharge pressure
  • Viscosity up to 2,000 cP
  • Acids, bases, solvents†, flammables†, water treatment chemicals, cleaners, plating solutions, kidney dialysis solutions, sanitary, diesel exhaust fluid (DEF)/AdBlue

EF Series

  • An ideal replacement for hand pumps
  • Integral strainer
  • Built-in hose, cord clips (EFP/EFV only)
  • Light acids and bases, solvents†, plating solutions, sodium hypochlorite, cleaners, coolants, diesel exhaust fluid (DEF)/AdBlue

†When pumping flammables or combustibles, use explosion-proof electric or air drive motors on stainless steel tubes with static protection kit.

Finish Thompson Mag Drive Pumps Prove Ideal for Chemical Transfer

“I wanted a pump that didn’t leak, and the Finish Thompson pump fit the ticket,” explains Bruce Gray, Southern States Cooperative Plant Manager.

Gray has good reason for leak concerns. He’s using the Finish Thompson pump to transfer phosphoric acid. “The pump is outside on the railroad track, and I need the right pump to prevent environmental pollution,” Gray notes.

As one of the largest farm supply and service cooperatives in the country, Southern States Cooperative provides a variety of farm inputs, including fertilizer. The phosphoric acid that is unloaded from rail cars by a Finish Thompson ULTRAChem® pump is used in the production of this fertilizer.

ULTRAChem Pump Offers Triple Play

Why is the ULTRAChem Series mag drive pump ideal for this application?

“The pump offers three benefits,” reports the local distributor who supplies the Finish Thompson pumps for Southern States. “The first is the pump’s design for chemical resistance. If you’re pumping a harsh chemical, like phosphoric acid, the ULTRAChem pump has the liner to protect the pump from corrosion. The second benefit is the mag drive. It doesn’t have a mechanical seal that will wear out. There is a complete barrier between the wet end of the pump and the drive of the motor. The outer drive magnet couples with the interior, eliminating the need for a mechanical seal.

“The third benefit,” the distributor explains, “is the ANSI design. As an ANSI-dimensional pump, it is designed to fit universally to other products without changing any piping.”

The second benefit – the magnetic drive – offered the most appeal for the Southern States application. “We went with Finish Thompson because of this technology,” reported the distributor. “The pump they were using had a mechanical seal, and eventually, the fluid will leak out just from normal use. This isn’t the case with the magnetic drive.”

Will Weathers, Finish Thompson Regional Manager, adds, “If you use a pump with a mechanical seal, you’ll have to continually replace it. The seals may wear out a couple of times a year. Depending on the chemical application, this replacement could involve the use of hazmat suits and several hours of down time. The magnetic drive of our pumps offers a long-term, safer solution. The ANSI standard adds further appeal, as it makes installation easier.”

The distributor agrees, “Southern States has been using the UC438 pump for nearly four years, and they have had no issues whatsoever with it. They’ve also added a Finish Thompson power monitor to protect the pump from running dry. If there is a loss of fluid elsewhere, or the valve gets shut down while the pump is running, the M20 power monitor will shut off the pump to protect it from overheating.”

“Finish Thompson has been very responsive whenever I need anything,” Gray says. The distributor reports similar experiences, noting, “As a whole, Finish Thompson is one of the best for service, responsiveness, and delivery. I feel very confident with their product line and their support.”
